Doctrinal Beliefs

The Word of God

We believe in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as inspired by God and inerrant in the original writings, and that they are of supreme and final authority in faith and life. (II Timothy 3:16, 17; II Peter 1:21)

The Trinity

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  We believe that these three are equally in every Divine perfection, and that they execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence, and redemption. (Matthew 28:19; John 14:10, 13, 16-17, 26; II Corinthians 13:14)

God the Father

We believe in God, the Father, an infinate, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love.  We believe that He works merciful in the affairs o people, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.  (John 4:24, Isaiah 6: 1-4; Romans 11:33; Genesis 17:1; I John 4:8)

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and is true God and true Man.  We believe in His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people, and personal, visible return to earth.  (Matthew 1:18, 23; Luke 1:35; John 17:11, 21)

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the Holy Spirit, who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment as well as to regenerate, sanctify and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ.  We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Christ and that He is an abiding Helper, Teacher and Guide.  (John 16:7-11; 14:16-17, 26; Romans 8:13-14, 26-27)

Regeneration

We believe that all are sinners by nature and by choice and are, therefore, under condemnation.  We believe that those who repent of their sins and trust in Jesus Christ as Savior are regenerated by the Holy Spirit.  (Romans 3:23; 6:23; Acts 20:21; Titus 3:5;
John 3:5-6)

The Church

We believe in the universal church, a living spiritual body of which Christ is the Head and all regenerated persons are members.  We believe in the local church, consisting of a company of believers baptized in Jesus Christ, and associated for worship, work, and witness.  We believe that God has called members of the local church to the primary task of giving the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost world.  (Ephesians 1:22-23; I Corinthians 12:12-13; Matthew 28:19-20)

Christian Conduct

We believe that all Christians should live for the glory of God and the well-being of others; that their conduct should be blameless before the world; that they should be faithful stewards of their possessions, and that they should seek to realize for themselves and others the full stature of maturity in Christ.  (Ephesians 4:11-16; 5:25b-27; Philipians 2:15)

The Ordinances

We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ has committed two ordinances to the local church; baptism and the Lord's Supper.  We believe that these two ordinances should be observed and administered until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.  (Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:1-11; I Corinthians 11:23-26)
